Guard books, 9" x 12", cloth boards half calf, the earliest in poor condition. The contents are notices of meetings (including general meetings for ballot), subscription notices, half-yearly or annual reports, proposals for alterations to rules, notices of dinners and so forth. Up to 1939 all were printed by letterpress. After that year most circulars were duplicated in the office. The circulars are pasted down with what appears to be flour paste, and there is some evidence of deterioration. It may be advisable to disbind the books and preserve the contents in loose folders: advice is to be sought from the conservator at the State Library, Melbourne.
